Advice!!! Father to be with a G Coupe
#16
I have an 18mo old, she loves riding in my G. Im 6'2 and I get her in and out the back no problem.
Plus my coupe (2004 6mt) has the child harness straps in the seat, so shes hooked in good and safe (also has straps behing the seat on the top). You'll be carrying your kid everywhere though, no way in hell a stroller is fitting in the trunk unless you get one of those small skinny strollers.
Keep your G and congrats.

What ^^ he said... I had a newborn when i first got my coupe and now she is three years old. I was able to fit her stroller and diaper bag in the coupe along with her car seat no issues to report here. you will be fine.

Having two kids (3yr old and 4 mo old) ive become somewhat of an expert at putting the car seat in the back with ease. I WILL NOT alow anyone else to attempt to put it in though at the risk of scratching my panels lol. I have some protector things ( i stole from my sisters house HeHe) that i lay down first to protect the seats from creases and wear and tear. U should definitely get one! As said by others i cannot fit a stroller in my trunk whatsoever so its nice to have a spouse with a sedan when u know ur gonna be walking around...... I will finish by saying this. It is definitely easier putting a baby in that lil back seat then it is trying to make one back there LOL

Infiniti actually has on their website a list of approved/compatible carseats for the G. Not sure what year you have but if it's an older one, I'm sure you can call them up and they can give you the list.

Good luck.

I think it is actually rather easy to get a 3 year old and a 1 year old in and out of my 03 coupe, surprisingly enough. Although my wife does most of the shuttling with the kids. Both are in car seats, but plenty of room once the seats move forward. Congratulations by the way, they are great!

The biggest problem I've found is graduating the baby to a toddler-sized seat. There's no good way to keep it rear-facing (recommended until age 2). At about 18 months, my son couldn't fit in the Graco car seat that had a dedicated base that stayed in my coupe. I had to put him forward-facing in a new larger car seat.
Definitely get an infant car seat that has a detachable base that stays in the car. There's no need to fight with trying to load and unload an infant from the car seat while it's in the car.
It also helps if your wife/significant other is short, because if she's taller than 5'6", the front passenger seat is going to be cramped with a car seat behind it...unless you're short enough you can put it behind the driver's seat.
