Advice!!! Father to be with a G Coupe

Hey guys, I'm going to be a dad for the first time in November!!! I'm just wondering if any of you dads out there have had difficulties with having a coupe and driving around a baby. Really any advice would help. I'm not really in a good position to sell my G and get something bigger. Thanks.

Bringing up a family in a coupe isn't difficult at all, I could never see myself driving a granny sedan. Raised my daughter and son in coupes without issues. Put the baby seat behind the front passenger seat, enjoy your coupe....Gary

Having a family of three young small boys, there will be some difficulties.

With an infant who will most likely be in a rear facing car seat, access to the rear will get difficult at times. If your car seat has a leave-in-the-car cradle, it will be easier, but the rear seats may not be wide enough to accommodate the cradle. Having a third person riding in the back helps so that they can unlatch the car seat from the cradle. Then, hopefully the car seat is wide enough to fit between the pillar and the front seat even in the forward position.

Depending on the size of the stroller, it may be difficult to haul any sizable items due to the stroller, which will take up most of the trunk space. Hopefully the stroller fits.

Luckily we owned a minivan at that time and didn't use the coupe that much. Now that they are grown, they fit fine.

She isn't my baby, but a good college friend has put her baby seat in my backseat without issue on a few occasions for travel. I don't think putting the baby seat behind the passenger seat is a problem at all. Worry not, and congratulations!

I am biased so my advice is to swap for a 6mt sedan. On the reals what my advice is to go to toys r us and try out every car seat for free in your car and see how the fit and feel. Then go online and buy it for a fraction of the price. Toys r us and Babies r us will let you try the seats for free in your car while you are researching.

Only difficult if the car seat is situated behind the Mrs! One piece of advice is have the car seat behind the driver seat so that way you are responsible for putting the baby in and out lol. It will only take that one time for your wife to get frustrated and complain about having a 2 door car! If all is good, you will be good for one more baby. After that a mini van!

I am for this idea!

I seen people w/ couples w/ baby seats in the back. You should have no problem w/ it.

You "Old Granny Car Pilots" are a funny lot.... Why is the answer always, "You need two more doors" for what, to slam? I brought up two colledge educated kids in my coupes, they weren't damaged by the experience and my wife never complained....Gary

I also had no issues with my first kiddo in the Coupe, we did multiple road trips etc, (when she could safely forward face). Do some homework tho on car seats etc and you can find protective seats that are nice and slim. The wifey hated trying to get the kid in / out of the rear seats but was a good sport about it. In prep for kiddo #2, we've already moved to a sedan, it's just easier and more practical (strollers can fit in the trunk with ease) plus it's a whole new project for me to tackle!!

and Gary...

Once of the reasons I also have a sedan is so we can drive the sedan when we have to go out as a family. Yeah, I've put a baby seat on this coupe and my son does fit fine. I don't think I'd do this with a newborn though, you have to be more delicate with them and putting them in and taking them out of the babyseat will be a little more challenging.
