My personal thoought is if Corvettes, and 911's come from the factory with Mobil1 in the crank it will not hurt it during break in.
Personally I wait until 5000 before I have switched my cars.
I has worked for me.

Corvettes and 911's dont use the Nissan VQ35. And there are a few reports of corvettes not seating the rings properly. Pretty much what we're trying to avoid.

If you want to take the time to read all the oil reports on the VQ and info over at bobistheoilguy forums, you'll probably feel more compelled to wait til 10K. I went to syn at 5K (mostly city miles), but after reading everything, I wished I had waited. I'm at 17K now and getting good oil reports and no oil consumption. I'm assuming my 5K of city miles gave me a good breakin, or at least about the same hours on the engine as someone with 10K hwy miles.

I never used it before, but a friend of mine lives for it.
You can't lose by going with the manufacturer's recommendation= Standard Dino oil.

I like synthetic and believe in it and spend the extra for it.
To me it's worth the peace of mind, and coupe of ponies.

Same here. After my first 3K, I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. It costs twice as much for synthetic, as compared to a regular oil change, but I can go to 5K miles before it needs changing again. So it basically evens out. Besides, it's easier for me to remember at every 5K on the odometer. My next one will be at 20K.

Motul is the best you can buy in market. it is designed for racing. I am currently running with Motul 300V and GEAR 300 in both trans and LSD. The car feels absolutely a lot better than I ran with castrol synth and Mobil 1, also Motul is a bit expensive
