05 g35 clutch pedal... again.

Greetings!

New member here. I bought an 05 g35 about 2 months ago, and I must say, I love this car. However, there seems to be an unsolved mystery surrounding the 1/2 way sticking clutch pedal. I have scoured previous threads here and have come up with a million conflicting solutions. Taking it to the Nissan dealership this morning with a few ideas of my own and will post afterwards about the results.

I really want to get this girl on the racetrack this summer, but with this wonky clutch pedal and inconsistent engagement feel... not happening.

Any more suggestions regarding this would be great. I've been a manual driver my whole life and learned to drive in an MR2. I'm well versed in this transmission type.

Thanks!
Stefanie

Love Portland Stefanie, worlds cleanest city! We can't blame the sticky pedal on you're inability to drive a MT must be the car. Did you check the clutch fluid to make sure it was full? There are so many possibilities with your issues, they need to be gone thru and eliminated to find the culprit....Gary

a common issue with our car. If you clutch fluid level is fine, try replacing your old with new fluid. If that doesn't work, replace your clutch master and slave cylinders. This will likey solve 99% of the time..

I'm having the same problem with my 06 6MT. I got a Competition Clutch Stage 2/lightweight flywheel about 3 months ago and it has about 2k miles on it. After break-in it was very stiff and was slipping occasionally, but then I saw another guy with the same problem and CC told him that he needed to get it readjusted after break-in. So AAMCO readjusted the pedal and it felt much better.

But then when it got hot the clutch would not come up all the way, and one day I got over to a friend's and when I went to leave it wouldn't go into gear. Let it sit for 20 minutes and pumped the clutch a few times and it was fine. Took it back to AAMCO and they readjusted it again (even though I insisted it must be something more) and now the pedal won't come up all the way when it's cold. But after driving it about 20-30 minutes it'll go back to normal. It's like the exact opposite of what was happening before. I'm stuck at home Memorial Day weekend now.

My clutch fluid is pretty damn dirty but will swapping that out really fix the pedal from sticking?

It's annoying that so many people seem to have problems with the clutch on G's and Z's but Nissan won't address them.

Mine sticks at the very last point of release. Like clutch isn't disengaged at all its just the inch or so where the pedal is moving but nothing mechanical is happening. And I only notice it with the AC on, on a humid day. So i attribute it to that. If its sticking during the actual engage/disengage then check fluid or master and slave cylinders.

Since the bledder screw is in the bottom of the slave which is suppose to be on top air still gets stuck in there. My g was doing the same thing. The best way to bleed it is pump it all the way to the bottom 5 times then pump it from top to halfway 10 times then hold then open the bleeder Do this process 10 times and you'll be good.

I bled, changed fluid, sprayed pedal assembly with lithium grease, had dealer tell me to replace both the master and slave....none of that solved my problem BUT removing the clutch pedal spring COMPLETELY fixed everything. There is not a doubt in my mind that my spring was gunked up and somehow causing the stickiness/no return in the heat....also had to adjust the height of pedal as well...ALL is outlined in the following thread

https://g35driver.com/forums/drivetr...g-removal.html

Best of luck!
