Weird sounds *with video*

The first video is of my engine. There are two sounds that are noticable about halfway through. The first sounds like a rattling for a split second. Happens about once a second. It just recenty started happening so i was thinking maybe it was one of my pullies rattling but they look to be ok. The second sound is like a quiet knocking. You can hear it the best when i move up towards my intake.

The second video is coming from underneith my car. Around my y-pipe area. Sounds like a loud knocking. Just started a few days ago.

Edit: just click the broken image picture to open up the video

I actually have the a similar noise, does yours go away on acceleration? I have had no luck figuring mine out, a buddy said it might be a loose valves or exhaust manifold, I don't really have the money to have a mechanic take the engine apart. Let me know if you figured out what it is.

The first video, and I mean it's pretty hard to make out what sound you're actually talking about, just sounds like the normal "clicking" of the fuel injectors. That's what I was hearing when you got closer to the top of the engine, on the intake side.

The second noise, and again, pretty hard to make out, sounds like one of two things:

1. The insulation in between the Y-pipe heatshields tends to get hard over the years, and actually ends up cracking, or breaking apart. It turns into smaller pieces, almost like little pebbles or flat, rock chunks. They end up rattling like crazy...

2. The worst that I've seen is catalytic converter rattle. The cat element actually breaks free from the metal it is adhered to inside its housing, and moves back and forth, and rattles as exhaust gases pass through it...

Again, I'm taking a stab in the dark here. Your best bet would be to have it inspeceted at an Infiniti dealer, or other qualified tech...
