The dreaded "check disc" error :(

Hey guys,

My cd changer finally crapped out on me and keeps giving me the "check disc" error, its an 07 coupe with nav but I found someone on here who is selling their cd changer from an 06. Am I able to use my faceplate and just change out the changer? I wasn't sure if there were any compatibility issues.

Forgot to mention the 06 unit came out of one with nav as well. Will I be able to use his changer with my HU?

Should just upgrade to an aftermarket HU. The CD changer failing is a common issue. It's pretty bad lol.

Haha I would if I was keeping the car past 6 months but some people get turned off by aftermarket stereo units. Less drama later!

I've owned a 1996 Infiniti J30, 2004 Nissan Murano, a 2006 Infiniti G35 sedan and all CD players failed on me! Piece of **** if you tell me ... I would of thought they would of fixed all these issues by now.

When I owned my 1999 Lexus RX300 for 7 years, I've never had a problem with my 6 disc CD player!

I have an 05 with nav. I have the check disc error too. Usually when it gives the error I remove the CD, insert the CD upside down, let it give the error again, then remove and insert the CD correctly. That will make it start trying to read the CD and after a couple of tries of ejecting and inserting the CD it will play. The more I use the CD player the better it works.
