Its bad coz u are not faster than a Z

I have been involved in the motorsports industry for over 15 years. My partners and I own a very successful company that builds engines for Sprint Cars, Big Block Modifies, and Late Model Dirt Cars. If you have ever been to a main event at a sprint car race you know that I know a few things about engines, horsepower and dirt. Our company has NEVER suggested or recommended K&N filters to our customers.

The K&N marketing machine is very impressive, they spend millions on advertising a product that does not deliver what they claim. We have NEVER ran a dyno test that showed a K&N product creating more power in any application. Further more we have seen the use of a K&N product not properly filtering dirt many times.

I just had a Blackstone oil analysis done on my 14-year old Nissan 300ZX, which has a K&N Filtercharger. They remarked that "the air and oil filters were working well, as shown by the levels of silicon and insolubles". I didn't tell them what kind of filter I was using.

Anyone know any infiniti dealer in my Bay area do the Z tube or okay with Z tube.

 

according to the dyno graphs i seen, the z tube actually LOSES quite a bit torque on the lower rpms. do a search its on this forum.

 

if any thing the z tube should increase mpg, if the driver continues the same driving habit... less restriction on intake, is more power freed up... so better effiency = higher mpg... in theory...

 

Please help me out and reference where you saw this graph?

 

does anybody know of Tustin Infiniti warranties you even if you have a z-tube??

If anyone has experience of Infiniti of Raleigh (Capital Blvd Raleigh, NC) and the Ztube please let me know. I have one to put on, but I don't want them to void my warranty if I come in for my free oil change. I know the law says they cannot, but there is enough talk on the board to make me concerned.

Every graph I've seen is good to the Z-tube - dropping torque using a tube DESIGNED for this engine and applied in the Z makes me wonder what kind of post ***** you are. Back it up - there is no graph - and if there is it's not the z-tube that causes the torque drop.

 

first off, are the gains significant enough to want to put it on? I havent done the search since I am not interested enough in the Z tube to get it, but I do pose that question.
