I did check the oil and its ok to the level.. I dont dare to drive it much but when i took it to the mechanic he lift it got under and told me that it was coming from the diferrential. That it could be a bearing but to rebuild it it will cost more than to buy a used one..thats why i want to know if one from a G37 can fit my G35 or if i have to buy an exact one!!

You would need one from an 07 - 08 Sedan with AUTO trans. 09+ G37 diffs will physically fit, but the final drive ratio changed when the 7AT came out, so your car would feel a little sluggish. G37s with 6MT have the proper drive ratio, but the front flange is different. Not sure how easy it is to swap out though.

Does anyone know if the 04 AT Diff is the same size as the 04 MT diff?
I was reading about the Diff swap and I have a 04 AT w/ VLSD and I see a 04 MT VLSD for sale on ebay but I don't see any difference.
Are they the same in the 03/04 model year or possibly the 03-06 model year?
Because the 07+ ones are clearly different between manual and automatic.

They have different final drive ratios. If you put in a 6MT rear end you'll spin higher RPMS on the highway and have slightly reduced fuel economy but better acceleration. Your speedometer will also be off by a bit assuming you keep stock sized outside diameter on your rear tires.

If you're ok with those things... I think you can just swap in the other diff.

I know about gear ratios.... And I know that the manual diff will fit.
Also the speedo shouldn't be off.
What I am asking is if the Differentials are physically the same other than the final drive gear, because I am going to do a 3.961 FD upgrade.
