2003 G35 Battery Group

I have an '03 G35 coupe. I read through a few posts online and came to the conclusion that the battery type was a group 35. However, when I went to pick one up, the book at the store said my '03 falls under the 24F category. Can anyone with experience who has replaced their battery please clarify the difference. Perhaps the other posts I saw were with owners of a different model year. Maybe the 35 is an upgrade or is similar to / more available than the 24F?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

You definitely want a 35 in your car. I just put a Red-Top Optima 35 in my '04 G35 a few months ago.

I haven't used my Optima Redtop in the cold yet in my G35, but I do have a 34R redtop in my Tacoma and it starts awesome in the cold. I've had it in there for about 3 years now.

I will say this though... i nearly sh%t myself the first time I started my G35 up with the new battery. I never heard the G spark to life so quickly and easily, and my starter sounded like it was on steroids.

My car never started quickly before...but after I put a series 35 Duralast Gold Series battery in my car from autozone(33 pounds vs 41 stock) I feel much more comfortable and it starts like a boss.
