Infiniti Price Match Guarantee?

Does anyone know what Infiniti's price match guarantee is? The dealership told me yesterday.

"that this dealership has a price guarantee that if we will not meet or beat someone else's deal we will give you $1000"

I don't want to ask them quite yet what that means for bargaining purposes.

Do the cars have to be the exact same color with the same options?

Thanks for the help!

Without even knowing the dealer, it would be hard to say for certain.

But I've heard of other dealerships advertisizing that they will beat another dealer's price for the exact same model by at least $300.

First, you would probably have to be comparing 2 models that are on the dealer's lots. And, you would probably have to get a quote in writing from the other dealership.

Plus, would you be trading in a vehicle? That gives them plenty of room to fudge numbers. Promise to undercut the other dealer, then offer you less on your trade.

This sounds like a dealer offer, not an Infiniti corporate one. You need to ask the dealer for a copy of the terms in writting. They need to have them available to you. If not, walk away. It should contain everyhting you need to know!

local dealer has the same deal JBA Infiniti of MD, but they only match or beat local/DC Metro Infiniti dealers. They offered to match Grubbs' offer of invoice (but + $700 for shipping). I ended up ordering mine from them last week.

Most definately a dealer thing... The dealers in Portland don't give a crap about what the competition sells their cars for. When on the phone with Beaverton Infiniti, they asked me, "Who is this Grubbs dealer you are talking about? You are the 2nd customer today, that said you'll be going there instead" And for the life of me, I couldn't get them to match/beat Kirkland Infiniti's offer (which was MSRP... Yes, Beaverton wanted MSRP+1600, because of the "NW Protection Package")

The Acura dealers are even worse here. The local Acura dealer wouldn't match/beat the price I paid for my wife's TL at the dealer about 1.5 hours south. The Portland dealer wanted MORE for a USED TL, than what I paid for a BRAND NEW one.

unfortunately there is only one dealer in my area unless you drive for 1+ hours, that infiniti pretty much has a monopoly in the price... not good although their prices are decent

Price match guarantees are generally not more than a marketing device. It sounds like a good thing to be able to say. The details get left for you to find out. The ones I've seen require that you bring in a written offer that is no more than 3 days old for the exact (to the infinate) car. Try getting a dealer to give you a written deal for something like that. It would be unusual.
