out of sheer curiosity why start with such a heavy/auto car for a "track only" approach? I love my G and I see the competitive potential but she sure is a bit of a pig. Especially If I had to add an army of chassis braces. Again, not hating at all (in fact im excited to see how a G in full race dress fairs) but why the g when there are so many other cars that are cheaper and a little more track friendly?

Love the car by the way

^ just a grounding kit and K&N drop-in air filter...everything else is overkill.

I LOVE my G and for having it for almost a year now and doing several track days....I wish I would've gotten a 350z or 370z.. lol The G is too heavy, wheelbase is too long, chassis is not rigid, and hp/weight ratio is not good enough unless FI'ed. It's not a horrible car by any means, but it does have several downfalls in this regard. It's not all bad news, I did pass a porsche 996 911 and 997 911 turbo, among others last weekend at Atlanta motorsports park. Driver mod > having a fast car

Good luck though, you'll have fun either way, I just wouldn't get too attached with the idea of building a track g35 as you'll quickly learn its shortcomings.

^ I have owned my G for 8 years and know this car inside and out more than most people ever will. When the built is complete, there will be few shortcomings.

You save a Whopping 200lbs having the 350z vs g35coupe...Weight matters, but not enough to justify giving up the 4 seat option...And if you don't need the rears then take them out and save weight..Just sayin
