That's a wicked deal, I love those Rays so much. The dealer in Edmonton wants >8000 for them haha. The only reason I'm not taking it to a mechanic is because I've waited way too long for a black one, I don't wanna regret it and just get this because its convenient. Last time I did that I bought a high mileage Jeep with a bad head gasket.
Ya, if you want a black one, just wait it out. It'll come. also, $8k for the rays is a joke! I saw a set of 4 in Canada for $500 at one point but it had some curb rash. Either way, you could probably get the rays with rubber for under $1000 used or find your car with them included.

The only thing I wish I had with my 05 is the bluetooth and the proximity unlock that the 06+ have. Also, mine doesn't have the memory seats so if someone uses my car (not likely) i could just push the button to put it back. Anyway, keep us posted of what you end up buying! I don't know where you are in Canada but I got my coupe in London Ontario.

I found a few, but on autotrader and kijiji so far there's either the ones for $10K with 200000+km and riced out to the max, or the really nice 06+'s with under 50000km thats asking 22k+. I was at fault in an accident when I was 17, so I my collision rates are 10k+ a year, hence why I'd rather not pay collision and buy a G under 15K.

I'm in Edmonton, there's 2 or so new ones posted every day so hopefully soon I'll have one. I've had TSX-R lenses and ES300 fogs to retrofit on the G for months now just waiting to buy haha. This is a great forum too, the Jeep forum was pretty lame and full of opinionated rednecks. You guys seem pretty chill and helpful.

I'll definitely post when I buy one! I'll probably do the retrofit the same day so I'll do before/after pics as well.

Good luck on your search.

Side note - I guess the chicken and egg argument was just taken to a new level. Which came first, mod parts or the G35?

Got to love it.

I'd avoid purchasing any parts for your G from Canadian dealerships. You can most often get the part shipped in from a U.S. dealership and pay much less for it (including shipping). I ordered my 06+ headlights from a U.S. dealership for around $600 for the pair, brand new, including shipping. You will have to modify them for the DRL though as you stated earlier.

Yeah, I think you're referring to thenismoshop. He quoted over 500 for the lights, and it got to around 600 shipped so that's what I plan on doing if the one I get has D2R reflectors. I've been doing retrofits for a few years so I'd rather save 2300 bucks and do some minor wiring fixes, I found the wiring diagrams here too and it looks very straight forward.

I've never been this excited to get a car before, not even for my first car haha.

I made an updated thread, I bought the G. The only issue so far is a hole in the Y pipe, debating which one to replace it with right now. Everything else is good, some road rash needs to be painted again and thats all.

It's my first standard, but I love this thing
