NAPA Platinum Filters?

I know a lot of people here are using the Napa Gold filters (Wix), but I noticed there is also a platinum filter they say is specifically designed for synthetic oils. Does anyone know anything about this filter?

You can review the napa filters below:

I stick with Nissan OEM or Purolator PureONE.

An oil filter is an oil filter is an oil filter. Well, unless it's made by Fram. But otherwise, I don't think any one filter is going to work better with synthetic than it is with dino oil.

^ FYI Nissan Oil filters are almost identical internally as the cheaper Fram filters.

OP, the filter you are talking about is a high quality WIX made filter. Its good you can run that filter for extended intervals.

I am going to stick with the K&N,M1, Bosch, Purolator Filters that are usually bundled with oil deals to save money. Though if the price is right I will use them no problem.

99% of the time I use the PureONE filters that Advance throws in their oil change specials. This month, they had some no-name filter included, though.

The Nissan OE filters are that bad? That's surprising. I'd think that Nissan would make a better product.

Hmmmm, so the platinum is still made by Wix. It looks like the platinum has different media and some wire reinforcements compared to the gold. Considering the popularity of the gold it may not be worth the extra money...

Aren't WIX only like...$2 or $3? It's just not worth the trouble of driving the extra five miles out of the way to buy one to me. Especially in traffic around here.

I'll just stick to the filters that come with Advance's oil change specials. They're usually decent if you get the synthetic or semi-synthetic oil.
