Advice on Modding My Grille
Anybody know a shop that can do custom work on plastic parts? What I want to do is modify my stock grille by removing the Infiniti emblem and then filling in the spaces in the center two slats so they are continuous like the outer two slats. As some of you may remember, Ducatiguy did this to his grille by using bondo to fill in the gap. However, he was just painting his grille black and I want to get my grille rechromed. Chrome is even less forgiving than black paint about showing up imperfections, so I'm not sure bondo is the way to go here. I have a second grille, so I was thinking 2 pieces about 4" long could be cut out of the second grille and glued into place to fill in the gap. I'm looking for a shop (preferably in CA) that could do custom work like this - I don't think a body shop would be the way to go here. If anyone has a recommendation, I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Prolix
P.S. For those of you who are thinking - "Just get the billet grille, it's almost the same thing and will be far cheaper and less of a hassle", I really think the stock grille looks the best, and I want a one-of-a-kind grille.
