what to drop on?!

alright guys ive done my research. im so stuck between eibach g35 progressive springs 1 inch drop, tein H-tech 350z linear, or H&R sport g35 coupe...im hearing that im going to need a camber for the H&R or eibach but some are saying no. the tein h tech looks pretty promising but i hear the front are somewhat harsh. i drove around in an H&R set up with stock springs and it felt great. now what the hell do i do haha. i cant go too low because im everyday driver and hit bumps all day OMW to work. anyone with these set ups lets hear it.

The factory cambers are adjustable to match OE specs if you do a minor drop. I'd go with the H-Tech's. I believe H&R give a pretty decent drop so you may need a camber kit there.

Go with what works....Tein!

Let's begin with some honest truth, regardless of what you may hear from the uninformed members here on DRIVER when you drop your G you'll need a complete camber kit front and rear so you don't eat thru tires. One quick way to find out is after you install the springs and get your G aligned ask the tech if you're close to OE specs. If you're not at -.50 and zero Toe you need the kit! I've run Tein 350Z H-Techs and it lowers your ride an inch in front and a little less out back but with a factory ride, not even close to being harsh....Gary

Not too many people running H&R's because they're sort of overpriced for what they are. You'd be better off getting H.Techs or S.Techs.

I'm dropped on 350z S.Techs coupled with Stagg SHS 350z struts. No front camber kit, but I do have rear camber arms. The rear arms are a must. Front, you might be able to squeeze by. I only picked up -1.5* camber on each side. And the Z S.Techs are one of the more aggressive spring drops for our cars.

agreed, you should need camber arms no matter what your dropping on, unless you love buying tires

well ive always thought the H&R will give the best ride quality of the spring choices i have but im just curious how much it will drop the car to give me issues because they state its only 1 inch drop all around but i hear its actual more from members

Like I said, H&R's are really kind of overpriced for what they are. Eibachs or S.Techs will give you just as comfortable of a ride. As far as drop amount, a lot of variables can go into the overall height.

Sorry for taking this off topic a bit, but how much is the front end adjustable with OEM parts? My front tires are feathered to hell on the inside..

The only thing that you can adjust with OEM parts is toe. Camber is non-adjustable from the factory.

The fact that your tires are feathered like that indicates that you probably have worn struts/lower inner control arm bushings/compression rod bushings.

I checked the whole front end, everything was still solid. Looks like I'll be grabbing a camber kit. Any recommendations?

You physically torqued the bushings on the compression rods and lower control arms? The bushings might look okay upon visual inspection, but mine literally fell apart when I put the slightest bit of pressure on them...

Are you on stock suspension? You should NOT need a camber kit if you are.

Haha nope, visual inspection after a wheel play test. I'll keep that in mind next time I lift it.

That's the thing, everything is OEM still on my G. The previous (and single) owner said his front tires always did this. I've also read on here that it's common, but I assumed there'd be a fix.

I did find an article describing the flaws in the 04-06 compression rod bushings, I assume they're press in like a ball joint? And since the OEM bushings seem to be crapping the bed, is there a preferred brand on this forum? I've used TRW/Moog on my previous cars without issue, but I'd still like to hear your opinions.

Sorry for threadjacking, OP.
