Knocking sound?

Ok, so I'm trying to buy this G35 coupe for 6 grand the guy said it had a knocking sound I asked him what can it possibly be, he said he got it inspected and the guy said it was because of running on low oil. How much is it to fix?

Oil consumption issue. Very widely known to happen with G35's, 350's, Altima's, and Maxima's. ^+1 STAY AWAY!

For 6k it might be worth it, if you have a hookup for a new block & mechanic.
Infiniti usually replaces the short block when under warranty, but it ain't cheap when it's out of warranty.
