Looking to buy 03-05 coupe.

Hello everyone. I am new here and I am looking to buy a G35 coupe. I have been searching for a coupe betwen the years of 03-05. I understand the 05-07 with the 6mt is probably the most desireable, but I think i have found a couple of deals where I can purchase an 04 for about $1500-2000 less with about 50k on the clock. All are 6mt with the Brembo. I am looking to do cosmetic mods wheels, lowering, bolt ons air intake exhaust. Maybe turbo later on. What do you guys reccommend.

i would say if the difference is only 2000 for an 06, its well worth it. your probably going to be spending atleast half that if not more that much in mods to bring it to the 06 performance level. and well the interior is also worth it. good luck

I agree, I think you'll be happier with an 06 model.

Depends what is worth to you.

If you want more performance from the car for track use an 03-04 would be better as they come with brembos and they aren't plagued by oil consumption.

If you want an 05-06 6mt, you'll have smaller breaks, a nicer interior and possible oil consumption on the engine but also more power. Honestly, asking on a forum for opinions as to what you should do is silly because only you know what you want on your car.

Keep in mind that the 06 has projectors which are $500+ on their own and look way better than the 04. Plus you get an upgraded cluster, rays forged lightweight rims, more hp, and nicer materials on the interior along with a better body kit on the exterior including nicer looking tails. That's just IMO though, I would def go with an 06.

Actually the 06 brakes are an upgrade from the Brembos, and they're bigger. I'd just avoid 05. It's the middle child of the G's. Doesn't have the pretty details of the 06+, and no brembos. When I was looking, I'd only accept an 04 or 06, because 03 is a first year car (paranoid), 05 is short on the goods, and 07 was getting too expensive haha.

Don't rush it, I waited months for my G.

I haven't driven a G35 with Brembos (hard enough to test braking power) but I know my 06 stops pretty damn good and looks better, inside and out, doing so. I can't imagine the difference between the two being noticeable enough (for most applications) to be worth the trade-off in interior/exterior upgrades. Also, keep in mind that the cost of replacement parts goes up with the Brembos.

I thought 05-07 all had the same brakes. Nothing wrong with 05, just no new exterior like projectors, tail lights, etc.

I said the 05 didn't have brembos = same as 06+ haha. So we agree.

I also secretly hate the early model wide spoilers..

Haha exactly my point.

Then again, no one notices these minor things until you buy the car and own it. I didn't realize they were different until I saw an ~04 driving in front of me and thought his spoiler was some greasy aftermarket bolt on. So imo, unless OP gets an 05 they can't go wrong.

Yea you kinda have to be careful with the 05+, some of the RevUp's burned oil more than others. Don't be scared away by it though, just keep it in the back of your head when making your decision. It's nowhere near as bad as those rotary engines though lol.

it's up to you. Not sure what an "upgraded" interior means to you. If it is a more comfortable drivers seat then get it....
