ILLG35 I wasn't disagreeing with you. Hell, any dude with that many mods on a G is ok in my book. My post was aimed at those who think that 380 bhp is all you can get from a FI G/Z. I think we both know this is far from the truth. Those numbers are disappointing indeed. Hell, I personally saw a friend with a 5AT Coupe pull 14.0 at 100 mph with just a z tube/K&N and Y-pipe, so bolt-on G's could get into the 13s (traction dependant Those two are tuned pretty conservatively with the Greddy pushing only 7 psi. I don't know how Grubbs is doing it, but they are pushing 9 psi with some really good tuning which is a must. 380 to 400 bhp is ok, but not worth the money. Looks like they were going for reliability over performance. If you can push 9 psi, you'll get about 380 to the wheels.

BTW a honda element is a brick not a M3
M3's at the dealer run 55k to 58k. I would take the better looking G Coupe and save 20-25k. But thats just me.

Yea i agree, these G35's had power but nowhere near where they could be! Anyway i couldnt deal with the reliability of going FI, a SC'er for the M3 is more reliable then one on a G35, i will guarentee it also! and you can get a brand new M3 ZCP starting at 52 for that sports package, i was at the dealer and ive seen it for this M3!

IMHO, i'd get an R33 GT-R for the same price range. ATTESSA AWD, twin turbo, rare car in the states, 1200hp/200mph potential, and we can't forget, the legendary RB26DETT good for upwards of 700hp on a bone stock motor. whenever my bro rolls with his crew (comprised mainly of fully decked out bimmers), he's the showstopper in every instance. whenever we go out to eat, there's always a crowd of people taking pictures of his car and waiting to talk to him about it. i never see people do that with any other car. in any event, i do think M3's are very sweet cars and if i had the money, i'd definitely own one too. i take that back, i'd just buy an R33

Reliability is a key factor for me staying NA, but there are quite a few guys on Freshalloy who supercharged their cars over a year ago with no problems whatsoever. You hear the horror stories of blown engines, then you here about some cars with over 25k FI'ed miles and you have to wonder what they did differently. I'm gonna splurge a little on my next car (50k+), so basically it will be between a GT-R and a M3 in 2006. I'm not willing to give up on luxury features like heated seats, climate control, etc. Basically, it will boil down to whichever car offers the most performance/luxury for the price. The new M3 with the V8 will be cool, but I can't ignore a TT 3.2 VQ.

M3 is definitely a faster car than G35, but will it hold. Check out line 4 with wrongness on the car. We used to have a 530i, same ol story.

I wished they made a yellow G35, or I wouldn't be stuck with the lesser.

Unfortunately it does happen, but hey you get a free engine and with an extended warranty for a while with a replacement car while its being serviced! Anyway that interior is FUGLY, why would anyone put that in an M3, G35 or any car?!?!:!

I only mess with M3s when I'm in the Z06, which makes easy work of them. Not even a contest, even when my Z06 was stock.

I would not mess with an M3 in my G35C though - the M3 is simply the faster car, convertible trim or coupe.

Is it me or does that car actually look Orient Blue? Anyway, I think BMW has reached the end of the line as far as drawing power from their I6. That's why the new M3 will get a V8. I even heard a rumor that they will offer a turbo version that will be positioned in between the V8 M3 and the new 3-series. They have a great engine, but I don't know if they can compete with the V configured sixes out today. Even Mercedes, Nissan, and Lexus dropped their inline six engines for V6s. I've even heard that Nissan can actually get 325 hp from the 3.5 VQ. Some Z guys are waiting for the new, lower compression 4.0 VQ to hit junkyards, so they can FI it. Interesting times indeed!

The I6 of the BMW M3 is the best engineered 6 cylinder engine in the world and the most powerfull without a doubt, and there is going to be a turbo bimmer int he new 3 series line with upper 200 HP and torque, i'll try and find the article!
