Maybe I need to have my clutch looked at. It just doesn't seem like it grabs anywhere near hard/quick enough to allow for this.
Any luck? It really isn't all that difficult. Make sure you are on pavement where you will be able to hear the chirps loud and clear!

Trust me, I was just as surprised as you are.

Can anyone else back me up on this?
It is highly possible with all that hp and torque. My previous car (2001 prelude 5speed manual) I was able to chirp easily 2nd to 3rd. So I wouldn't be surprised the G chirping 3-4th.

Isn't it true that when the engine is cold (when first driving off for the the day) it is not recommended to shift above 2000 RPM until it warms up?
I feel 3 RPM to be the best for shifting on regular basis but have been experimenting with 2000 which works ok. Have not noticed any improvement in gas mileage with a more conservative approach.
Not to mention the beautiful growl that the G gets at 3RPM. Everybody thinks I am racing when they hear my engine at 3RPM. I guess they are not used to a great engine sound.
By the way,is the engine sound of the G similar to that of the 350Z?

Ive driven stick all my life. I hate Auto cars. They are just too boring.

I rather play with the gear and clutch than sit static and press 1 pedal.

first time stick driver over here...question for you more experienced guys

what is the best technique to take off at the line? i'd like to learn something that isn't incredibly complicated and won't cause harm to the engine and clutch.

thanks!

5k? Thats all? Don't you mean we should rev it until it bounces off the rev limiter about 6 times, THEN dump the clutch?

And you'll end up with a 3.5s 60'
