New 03 G35 coupe owner
Whats up fellow drivers,
I just bought a red on black 03 g35 coupe with 98k. I love everything about the car and glad to have it as my first. There are a few issues that maybe you guys can help me with. The service engine light is on and autozone states its a O2 sensor, which i have. After i install that hopefully the ight turns off unless i have to get it reset. Another issue is, what i think, the ABS sensor for one of my brakes because i believe it thinks the car is sliding and starts to antilock when i hit the brakes. Also, when i checked the oil stick it had oil all the way to the top. i don't know if thats because i checked after i drove it but either way im going to change the oil. There are some other minor cosmetic issues that I'm not really concerned with. Any thoughts on approaching these few issues?

Welcome to DRIVER G'd & Congratulations of getting a G35 for your first ride!
While having the 02 sensor installed remove the negative side of your battery, that will reset your ECU. I would have a brake/alignment shop check out your brakes, sounds more like one of your calipers is frozen rather than a ABS issue. There's a checkered line on one side your dip stick, that's the full line. Were you able to get any service records from the previous owner....what kind of oil was used? If they were using Dino oil I'd continue to do so rather than switching to synthetic, hopefully they've been using a quality synthetic. Good Luck and Enjoy the ride....Gary

Welcome to the forums, best I can help you with is the oil issue. Run the car then once you kill the engine give it 10 minutes, THEN check the oil. If you check when its running or right after you turn it off the oil will be all over the dip stick. Let it drain for 10 minutes then check. I always double/triple check and I try to remove the dip stick quickly as our dip sticks are at an awkward angle and oil may slide down the stick while your pulling it out.
