Homemade invisichord for $2
Made this a few days ago, thought I'd share with anyone who feels like doing a small cheap mod for their detector. I got the cable from an electronic supply warehouse (MRO) but I'm sure you can get these anywhere. Just a standard 4 pin connector.
I also wrapped mine in black heatshrink to hide the cable better, and soldered legs from a massive capacitor on the ends of the wires to act as prongs to mock the invisichord. Holds on solid, no contact issues either.
For mine, the black/red on the cable were ground and the yellow/green were hot. I just probed the charger with a multimeter to find that out. I'm sure it's the same on most detectors but instead of potentially frying your $300 toy, take ten seconds to confirm it.

Now I just need to make a custom mount and I'll be satisfied.

The pink/black wire on the mirror is 12v and the black is ground. I soldered legs on to the wires from the cord and pushed them into the copper tabs where the wires from the G35 power the mirror from.

Gold plated? That's still ridiculous. My suction cups work perfect, I wouldn't pay more than 40 just to have it moved an inch over and be hanging from the mirror. That's a little crazy.

The next closest I found is in the A pillar, there's a 3 wire strip cable that runs down it and has a 12v and a ground. You could tap into there and still hide wires.

You gave me new ideas to spend money on now
