Repainting my G

Purchased my G35 few months ago, currently thinking about painting it sometime soon. Was leaning towards a Matte finish, but it needs specific car. I want a paint job that inst over used, something different, any ideas ?

I'm personally more of a fan of gloss colors, but to each their own. What is your favorite color?

You should do what you think would look best. You're going to be the one driving it after all!

in my opinoin, if you want a matte finish you need some really aggressive body mods

Matte finishes are hard to pull off, so I hope your car doesn't look stock. Are you a perfectionist, do you wash/wax/polish your car often? If not, stay away from dark colors (assuming you don't go with a matte finish).

I paint cars and painted matte finishes on cars and bikes. They look good but when I see them it one of those thing like so easy a cave man can do it. I've never looked at a matte paint job and said dam a lot of work went into that. Just my 2 cents.

The only matt finished G35 I've seen and liked was on here on DRIVER. She was a highly modified (total body kit) matt finished Ivory Pearl coupe. Not my thing but she was beautiful....

I would rock a matte finish, but like what others are saying, I would mod the G first. But I would go with a matte white finish and have black rims.. and make sure you get dark tints! How much to get it painted?

Just curious, what makes it easier than any other paint job?

Well first it hides lots of inperfection in bodywork and prep work that goes into a good paint job. Second good paint job will take 4-6 hours to paint. Matte finish 30-45 mins, 2 coats and your done.

I say, if you're leaning toward matte, then just wrap the car. At least then, when matte gets played out, you can go back to a gloss finish. If you end up getting tired of it then its easier & cheaper to just take the vinyl off compared to painting the car again. Just my opinion.

That's interesting! Thanks for the info.

Agreed. Vinyl is a great option for matte finishes.
