Problem with ebay engine dampener
Got it today, installed it 3 times because it wouldn't mount properly. It's too short (can't be extended) and the lower bracket blocks it from angling enough to align the top end even if it WAS long enough.
Bastards sent me the wrong lower hardware too that I had to get myself. I wish that was my only issue.
Should have been a ten minute install, I spend 3 hours on that. Not impressed.

Anyone else have issues with the ebay dampeners?

Everyone says how great they were, and considering its just a strut it should have been! Just a defective part that wasted too much time.
The lower bracket has 3 bolts holding it down, and one large bolt that holds the actual dampener to the bracket.

No kidding. My friend with an IS300 ordered his on ebay, identical part. Only difference is the mounts haha. I'm actually so pissed that it's too short, I sent the seller pictures too and he's like "I'll send you the installation manual".

Sorry, I guess it was the upper bracket I was questioning in the first pic. A single bolt holding that small piece of metal doesn't seem very secure IMO, I foresee that bracket moving in the future.

It's on right, it's not the fact that it's far away, its the issue that the dampener won't move closer towards the engine block. That bracket is on loose too so I could set the strut on the bottom before it was tightened. But I assure you everything is done to a T.
I'm referring to the single bolt holding the bracket itself to the engine block.

I see. I don't think it'll be an issue. Well, I don't think it WOULD have been an issue haha. This seller better get back to me soon :/
It keeps the engine from moving as much when under throttle, essentially it simulates a better throttle response and decreases the amount of power wasted due to the engine mounts.

Back again friends. Found this.
It's length adjustable. Now if I can get it to not interfere with the bottom bracket I'll be golden.
