'05 Diamond Graphites lighter than '03 & '04?!?

I have been noticing that 2005 Diamond Graphites seem to be more on the silver side....did something change or does it get darker with time? My roommate isn't into the G35 and even he pointed it out. Just from pictures this is what I have noticed.

Can you post some pics of your car?

The pics I've seen of the '05 in DG looked like the same color.

You can't tell from pics. The DG looks lighter or darker depending on light conditions. You need to compare an '04 and an '05 side by side.

Same colour and code......

You sure you'll not looking at B/S?

Weird. I thought it was lighter too, and mistaked it for B/S when the guy pulled it out. I had to double check and make sure it was D/G before I took it off the lot.

It is surprising just how much the color of both DG and BS vary depending on light conditions. When I was at the dealership recently, they had both a DG coupe and a BS sedan on the brightly lit showroom floor. The BS was very light in color and looked nothing like the DG coupe. We then went outside to look at some more cars - it was about 4:00 so it was just starting to get dark - and I was looking at a BS coupe thinking it was a DG coupe. The salesman told me it was DG and I didn't believe him, the car I was looking at was nowhere near the color of the BS sedan I saw inside. So he drove a DG coupe up next to the BS coupe, and only then was it apparent that I was mistaken. The DG coupe looked very different outside than it did inside as well. If you are comparing pictures, you could easily think the color has changed for '05 when it is just the lighting variation.

If you had pictures of two DG coupes side by side - and one was an '03 or '04 and the other was an '05 - then I could maybe see bringing this issue up on the forum. But you have pictures here of a coupe that has shadows on it and also direct sunlight, and from this you are wondering if they changed the color for '05?

Shaking my head,
Prolix

it's definitely the lighting and how clean the car is. around dusk my car looks very dark... and also when dirty it looks darker. this past weekend when i cleaned it up a bit, it was bright... almost like a BS. It's still bright right now outside my office w/ the sun directly on it and it does look like it's BS... maybe a little darker.

The lighting seems to be the problem.

Hell I wish my 04 DG was darker, just a little.

Almost certainly lighting.

Pic of my DG coupe...

second pic after the cloud got out of the way.

The '05's at the dealership are exactly the same as my '04.

Perfect example...thanks...by the way whats the percentage of tint you got? I am looking to tint and like yours...not to dark but not too light either.

Yeah, my car right now is silver, so thats why I didn't want to go with either BS or DG, but yeah, DG is going to have shades of silver it in, just really depends on the lighting condition and stuff. If Infiniti would of went darker on the DG, I would of really consider getting it over black, but its not that dark, so I didn't bother with it.
