manumatic shift

i have an auto 03 coupe. if i manually downshift into 2nd and then come to a stop the automatic downshift to 1st is very abrupt...this doesn't happen when i am in 3rd prior to coming to a stop.
does anyone else experience this and know why this happens?

This only happens on mine when the engine and tranny are cold. As soon as warmed up, the shift to 1 is seamless.
If yours is dong that warmed up, it may need an adjustment -- Dealer time.

i heard that its bad for your car if your in manumatic and you downshift for 3-1...supposedly you should let the car do it itself as you stop...people have been saying its only for the G's prior to the 05's. correct me if im wrong

Why don't you just pop it back into automatic when your coming to a stop? Then just switch back over to MM when the light turns green / you go to take off again?

I understand you automatic people. (I am one too). It's nice to hear the rev sound. I asked the dealership if they know anything about the rev matching in the 05 model. They don't know anything. Some people say it's okay to downshift like that, some say it's not good for the car. No one know it for sure.

Yea, I heard that the 05 will automatically rev match for you so you can downshift whenever. It'll match it then you'll feel the car slow down like a manual, cept not as hard.
