I seriously doubt he actually bought '06 projectors from the stealership (no one's that dumb) so he's guessing they wouldn't replace the projectors he has in his '04. If you have questions about the air bag recall, call your Infiniti dealership....Gary

SEARCH is your friend, this question has been asked/answered since 2009 if not sooner.

To saywat, he installed '06 projectors in his '04....did you get that part? He's assuming the dealership wouldn't replace them, but they did?
Gary

To clear this up. No i didnt buy them from the dealer. I got em online. It is the PART that has a recall., Its a law that they must replace any part. If you took them off the car n walked in the door with them theyd have to replace them. If any dealer gives you crap, tell them youd like them to call the government highway authority! :-)

"Online" is not a vendor... it's a medium of accessing other vendors or individuals for purchasing an item. Who did you actually buy the headlights from online? Was it an online dealer, a private party, E-bay?

Lol Ive gotta agree with the OP here. What's so hard to understand about his post? Its a recall. You take the headlights in. If the Serial numbers match what is included in the recall, they will take your 06 headlights and give you a replacement pair.

someone should call the dealer or waits for grubbs response to ask if the dealer will actually replace lights that was purchased and not originally on the car if its recall lights.

anyone has the lights laying around can show us if there is some unique number printed on the lights that the dealer wouldve used to ID the recall lights?

it was a little hard to understand initially because i dont think anyones ever posted that a dealer would replace lights that never came with the car from the factory.

WTF are you guys not understanding? Myself GARYC and others have posted multiple times EXACTLY what is going on here, so why dont you guys read the ENTIRE posts before posting redundant STUPID a@s questions over and over?!?!?

Seriously, i posted this thread to help people, not to be alerted every hour that some dumb as$ posted the same questions someone else did two posts before him.
maybe u should practice alittle reading yourself. i never specifiically said "purchased lights from dealer". i said jus "purchased lights" meaning from anywhere. meaning not originally on the car

THEY CHANGED THEM ON THE SPOT!

IFFFFF your lights are one of the 29,XXX lights recalled, then you can get new lights! Its not the car that's a part of the recall guys, ITS THE PART ITSELF! HOWEVER IF you have an actual 2006 car, you CAN call and give them your vin number and they can check over the phone if your lights where put on during that recall period, otherwise you have to get the number off the lights yourself.

If this doesnt clear it up for everyone, then i dont know what to tell you guys.
The reason I asked where you bought yours from was that I was pretty sure I remembered reading that some people with '03 and '04 G35 Coupes were upgrading their headlights to the defective ''05\'06 Projectors by purchasing the "recalled" headlights that were removed by a dealer during the recall and installing them into their older G's as an upgrade over the stock reflector headlight assemblies. Basically, someone at the dealership was taking the recalled units that they had in their shop and reselling them for like $450-600 a pair to '03/'04 Coupe owners(obviously not on the up & up, and probably unbeknownst to the dealerships management). I can't see how Infiniti would replace those, because they are basically paying to replace the same headlight units TWICE.

His stock lights were replaced with '06 Infiniti lights, not aftermarket. Before '06, lights were halogen. '06+ are HID. lights. MUCH better lights.
