'05 Rev-Up Engine Rebuild

My car has been diagnosed with oil consuming issues. Now at the time of purchase it came with a transferable warranty(Non-Nissan). This party will be paying, partially, for the rebuild.

My question, what should be changed / fixed on this rebuild in order to stop and or lessen the oil consumption issues?

65,000 miles coupe with 6mt.

Thanks, HKK

see if they will float you the cash for this --> http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=4265

kinda weird they give you the money to rebuild, im guessing thats because of the aftermarket warranty

How bad is the oil consumption? All 05-07's have OC, it's just a question of how bad it is. Mine is only 1qt per 4000 miles so I just let it go. Also, how much is partial payment, 50%?

1/4-1/2 a quart per 625 miles, runs great. Paying 50% for the rebuild.

Replaces the lower part of your engine. Crank, rods, and pistons. Search importpartspro, and look at their engine packages. Also great prices

Getting the engine rebuilt at a cost to me of $ 2500, all that needs to be changed will be fixed.

Stop wasting time and getting your self into headaches. Who will be putting the shortblock together and moving over timing components. Are these guys certified or even experienced to work on VQ engines specifically revup which has intake and exhaust timing. Call up courtesy nissan and tell them you want the online/g35 driver discount. You will be out of state and save on tax but cough up like $250-500 in shipping I would imagine. Just buy a crate motor and drop it in since it comes with all new timing components and ready to go. Have fun torquing the heads, mating the surface, assembling to spec, blueprinting/balancing, moving over timing and setting it correctly. Oh who is planning on replacing all the old worn out tensioner, oil pump and fun stuff......
