squealing start up?
how much would it be to replace them?
I suggest you only use OE belts, they seem to have better quality than what we can buy at the local auto parts store. Give Nissan a call and ask, not Infiniti unless you would enjoy paying 30% more....Gary
This is correct. I just bought both belts from OC Infiniti for $40 and replaced myself in 45 mins the other weekend.

What the heck kind of belts are you using, gold-plated and diamond-laced BLING-BLING gangster ones that you can take off the car and wear around your neck as jewelery?
I replaced mine this past summer and it cost me like $45 total in parts.

I got them from the same place. Tony's a cool guy.
Of course if you do it yourself, which probably 10% of people do, it's much cheaper.
In 45 minutes? It takes that long to jack the car up and get the undershroud off.
I just had mine replaced on 11/14/12 at a local tuner shop and my idle squeak (not just at start-ups but while on the road too) went away. Later that night I started it up and the squeal was much worse than before I replaced them. Since then they have yet to squeal again.... Should I expect it to happen again soon or just not worry about it? Full-time jobless student here. Just wondering.
His coupe is 8 years old with 41K miles on it's clock. Chances are he still has the OE belts it came with which are by now dry and cracked making the squealing noise he's describing. I've replaced more than a few sets of belts, never had a new set make noise of any kind!

but yeah after that, they are really easy to change. i actually did mine the last time i changed my oil. they were just starting to develop cracks and i figured i might as well do them while i'm under there. i used gates belts, haven't had any squealing issues.
