Modification advice asap please!

Hey,

I'm about to do seemingly popular Motordyne mrev 2, 5/16" plenum spacer, z tube, K&N, osiris tune mod which will cost about $1900 and will supposedly warrant 30 whp according to my uprev tuner.

What I'm wondering is if you guys think it'd be worth it to also install Motordyne ART pipes? This will cost me about an additional $800-1000 and will warrant about 8 or so whp. Other concerns with the ART pipes is the rasp reported by most users and the stinkiness. I'm just really on the fence about this and hoping some of your guys' comments might tip the scale in one direction.

Thanks

additional 800-1000 including the cost of the pipes or no? if you are considering getting it done, id just go ahead and do it because if you are tuning now and then you want to add test pipes later you will have to retune. if you get the art pipes, id get the xyz pipe so you can add a high flow cat later on if you want to get rid of the smell.

If you don't mind straight pipes, then yes get them. How much is he charging for labor? Because $1,900 is steep.

ART pipes are in the $400+/- range and yes you will have major stinky exhaust! That's why I only ran mine for a week going back to HFCs. (high flow cats) If you have a '05 thru '07 manual trans G35 the spacer/mrev2 will give you 18 RWHP. Known at DRIVER as "Best bang for your buck!" The Z-Tube and K&N filter will change the way your engine sounds. (Better) Before you jump on a tune save your $$ for a high flow exhaust like Motordynes before you get a tune. You want to get all your breather mods completed before you get a tune....Gary

No it's $600 for the part shipped, $200-400 for labor depending on whether or not complications arise. I do like the fast intentions set up but for over $2000 with install feels like more bang for the buck to put it towards my next powerful car whenever that is.

That sucks there's only a 18 whp increase. The uprev tuner I'm going to says he's seen our cars jump on his dyno from 180 whp to 215 whp (I know both numbers seem smaller then standard) with the spacer/mrev mod.

Is the 18whp power increase even that noticable?

OMG....where do you live on the moon? Fast Intention HFCs cost $600 max and install is a simple bolt in replacing your OE cats. One hour labor max to install with a lift! Where do you get these $ figures from, the stealership? Of course you can feel a 18 RWHP increase, with all the breather mods installed you should pick up another 30 RWHP/18 to 20 LBS torque with a tune. Check our MARKETPLACE for prices on your mods....Gary

Lol I wish almost better then Alberta Canada. I'm buying the part from the marketplace, ART pipes are just damn expensive. Unfortunately every reputable shop I've tried said it'd be about 2 hours assuming no bolts seize up while trying to remove the cats.

I just don't know what to expect this is essentially my first car so 18 didnt seem like much lol. With the ART pipes being the only mod to my exhaust think I would see close to that 30 RWHP Gary?

Thanks a ton

Yes you should see that much after your tune. Youll love your car all over again after these mods. especially all at once.

With Motordyne's MREV2, 5/16 spacer, stillen cat back and AAM Comp HFC I saw more than 30whp and a matched 30wtq gain after osiris tune. I have a 04 nonrev sedan.

I have all motordyne parts and a temp tune on my osirus but going to the dyno when spring hits and im hoping to be close to 300 whp. But we will see! Def worth the money for all the mods If ur not gunna be building ur motor up for forced induction. I bought everything all at once and just got osirus tuned 2 months ago and im happy before a dyno run!

I doubt you'll hit 300. Do you have cams or headers?

Just get the parts used and you can knock off a lot off of the price. I would get:

Spacer - $135
MREV2 - $330
Motordyne TDX2 exhaust - $1200
ART Pipes -$450
Tune -$550
Total - $2665 + Labor

And you'll pretty much be done. The Z-tube is for sound more than anything. Your labor costs seem pretty high, ART install is $200 at most, should be $100. MREV2 and Spacer are very easy to DIY, same with Z-tube. Prices are used aside from the tune. There's also a sale at B2AutoDesigns for ARTs, MREV, and spacer right now for black friday which makes them really cheap new too.

Thanks man! Looking around for used parts is a bit of a hassle fort me but I'm currently in contact with B2AutoDesigns there prices are great!

I know labor seems high, they guy said it would most likely take one hour per cat but that he had to cut a bolt of a 350z newer then mine recently which extended the service time.

The spacer I was quoted at about $140. This seems fair enough. I'd like to do it myself but don't have the proper tools ex. torque wrench etc. Tried a couple shops though, went with the one with the best price.
