just save for a vortech supercharger. $2500 is basically half way to a new supercharger.

A lot of that $2500 is tuning and installation though, and they're probably things I'd want even if I was fi

The spacer I was quoted at about $140. This seems fair enough. I'd like to do it myself but don't have the proper tools ex. torque wrench etc. Tried a couple shops though, went with the one with the best price.
For the cats, I would just buy new bolts and have him torch off the old ones, should be a very quick process.

DO NOT pay any labor at all for the spacer/Mrev2. Install them both yourself, you only need a pliers and a 10 mm socket. I didn't use a torque wrench and just did mine by feel, and had no problems at all. You just need the bolts snug, and do not need to torque them very hard. There's a youtube DIY video for the install. It is seriously only pulling/re-attaching hoses, and screwing/unscrewing bolts. It also gives you the chance to clean out the insides while you're at it, there will be oil residue in there which can easily be removed in an extra 5-10 minutes or so.

I pocket $100 instead and spend the extra $40 on an aramid gasket if you didn't get one already.

Going fi prepare to budgey atleast 7 g's for a new kit, proper install, tune and internals if ur going for serious boost! On top u have to increase ur suspension/brakes to handle certain stages of power I chose all breather mods w a plan of a motor internal upgrade so I can comfortabley drive a supercharged daily without a single issue... but thats way down the road!

Thanks Darkstar! Have you known anyone who has had them torched off quickly? When I talked to the shop they said sometimes it takes a while because they seize and need to be torched off. Maybe I'm being screwed.

I'm always skeptical about not using a torque wrench but if you didn't encounter any problems I'll give it a shot. Just checked Aramid gasket comes with the isothermal spacer kit

Only time you need to torch a bolt off is if its rusted really badly. Other then that you shouldn't have a problem

No problem bud I know a guy who struggled with a bolt for almost 2 hours when trying to put a y-pipe in, he ended up just taking it to the shop and said they torched it off in 10 seconds. I don't have any personal experience with it though, I will soon once my TDX2 goes in a couple weeks from now since my exhaust is rusted to hell.

I know multiple other people who didn't use a torque wrench. Just follow the same procedure as the instructions, tighten them all down in order hand tight or a bit more, then just finish them off with a ratchet. I think the brass ones for the MREV are softer, so go a bit easier. They don't need to be white-knuckle tight, just snug with no leaks.

No, not with just your ART pipes and no other breather mods. Just replacing OE cats with ART pipes/HFCs gives you around 8 HP. Like I posted you're better off getting all your breather mods installed prior to a tune. MREV2 + 5/16" spacer & complete cat-back dual exhaust system. Best intake without issues is Stillens CAI and Z-Tube combination. With these installed and the ART pipes or HFCs you should easily exceed the RWHP you're looking for with a tune....Gary

Thanks for your knowledge again, always great when you chime in. Honestly right now 8whp is more then enough. I'll probably sell before doing enough mods to justify a full cat back. I've heard you recommend the Stillen intake before in a thread. If I decide to upgrade from the to the Stillen later will I need a new tune or will the stillen work with my tune?

You will not need a retune.
