accident...any aftermarket rear replacement?

Unfortunately I was rear ended the other day and my rear bumper needs to be replaced. The guy is going to settle outside of insurance and is giving me a nice sum of money to do so.

My question is: Is there any aftermarket full replacement rear bumper (in abs or urethane) out there yet? I figure the cost of an OEM replacement and paint could probably pay for a nice aftermarket rear if one is available.

Any ideas or direction would be appreciated.

there are couple out there. but i think the OEM is cheaper though. the OEM is only 300 but the aftermarket ones most of them cost over 400. it's your choice. good luck.

the bumper definitely needs replacing. Those things shatter when hit...my licence plate holder portion is all but hanging on by a thread.

wickedik: is the impul bumper urethane?

thanks...I cant seem to find any clear pics of it. However, I noticed it is pretty pricey. Hmm maybe I will just stick with the oem or possible get the INGS+1 and get it molded to my current bumper and just get the damage repaired.

I hope you very carefully inspected the trunk floor for buckling and the foam part before accepting only $1500. We are rated as one of the most expensive 5mph crash test cars for a reason.

But honestly Burr do you want just an aftermarket rear bumper and stock on the rest? IMO it's going to look half *** with only an aftermarket rear so I hope that you get the rest of the car hooked up.
