Converting OEM seats to Pull bar adjust . HELP
I posted this in the Interior section and no replies, so im hoping this thread will get more attention here.
For those of you who put in after market seats and seat rails, would you say....
your seat is lower in height compared to the OEM seats?
How did you by pass the airbag warning light ?
Recommendations on best pull bar adjust rails ?

ALSO I NEED PICS OF THE UNDERSIDE OF STOCK OEM SEATS to G35 COUPE
and if anyone can give any dimensions on the bolt patterns that would be great ! thanks !

I can't answer ALL your questions, but I can lend a bit of personal experience/options to what you're trying to do.
1) Yes. Aftermarket seats (or at least all the ones I've sat in) are lower than our factory seats but that's becuase you getting rid of about 3inches of hardware (heater, motor, hydraullic, etc) that we have under our seats.
2) As for the airbag warning light I don't know if there's a way to disable that. I've never NOTICED it, but it's not something I've ever looked for either. You might be able to get some solid feedback on that question alone in the electronic section.
3) If you really want to do away with your power/heated seats and keep an OEM factory seat, I would look into either a JDM (Skyline 350GT) seat or a MUCH easier to find 350Z seat. I'm not sure if either of those offer a strictly manual seat (I'd assume you your best bet would be a used 350Z seat). Maybe find someone to swap with or something. I've taken my seats out before and just in looking at the underside of it, it appears to be more of a job than what it'd really be worth, imo.
How mechanically inclined are you? I ask because this may be a more involved job than what it may initially appear. Hope some of that help. Good luck with all that.

thankyou for your response and answers, i am really inclined to do this, b/c my seat motors i can feel are starting to go out and im not looking to pay $400 to replace the motors. I just thought of this now, but since im only switching out the rails, everything will play and play ..............im hoping so i dont have to deal with the seat sensor and airbag light. But i never thought of using Skyline 350GT seats but 350z seats have came to mind, but my only concern is the plugs that play into the sensors.
Well, the hardware is all the same with the seats. It's all Nissan. You shouldn't have to worry about it unless you're running something ecu specific. But, I don't know for sure to be honest cuz I've never done it.
If your motors are starting to go, you're not really going to be gaining MUCH by just going manual as you'd have to disamble the entire seat and find a way to make it all work. Some of the hardware (sides and underbody) is actually attatched to the seat. I mean, I guess it COULD be done, but these seats don't really come in pieces. Replacing the motor at 400 may be easier than tearing apart the entire seat and doing a bypass for the airbag at 350ish.
Another thought is eyeball the passenger seat. Motors gotta be the same. Maybe tear apart that seat first just to see what you're getting yourself into. Possibly swap that motor with your seat motor or at least give yourself an idea of the schematics involved in doing it. I wouldn't imagine it to be hard. Just time consuming. And it's better to have no passenger seat for a couple of days (or whatever) than no drivers seat.
