How stiff is stock clutch? 1-10?

The title was suppose to say Stock clutch

I'm very curious how heavy/stiff the clutch comes. Why I am asking this is because I really dont want another heavy clutch (own a mustang gt 01). It has been causing the bottom of my foot to have aching pains and even the side of my leg. I go to the gym 4 days a week and I always do leg exercises and my legs are defiantly in shape.
Let me show an example of my 1-10
My buddies Mazda miata is definitely a 3 or 4.
And another friends Subaru impress is about a 5 or 6
Then a Lexus is300 is 6 aswell.
My mustang with be a 9. (it makes all the other cars feel like a feather)

All the other cars I named were defiantly tolerable and felt 100x better on my leg when I've driven them in the past, I'll be test driving one hopefully this month.

So 6mt owners give a rating.

No idea on what rating but it is heavy/tricky and will wear you out in rush hour.

depends on which year 03-04 have a stiff clutch (7-8 rating by your scale) and the 05-07 have a very springy light clutch comparable to a s2k (4-5 rating). this is from 1st hand experience owning both the older version as well as the newer one.

What a relief, I'm planning on getting 05 or 06

they changed the clutch slave cylinder in the 05-07 models. That's why it feels softer compared to the 03-04. When i changed mine out as preventative maintaince on my 03, with a new oem slave clutch cylinder, the clutch was noticeably softer.

Its still stiffer then i would say a evo, porsche, subaru or honda clutch.

Going off your scale, i would say probably a 7. My clutch felt a little more stiffer then my friend's 2012 wrx.

I think OP misspelled soft.

coming from an 02 WRX with a decent amount of power mods and a stiff ACT I installed I think the G35 clutch is beyond super easy to drive.

05-07 are not that stiff and what you should worry about in a 6MT is the high engagement point, which makes you look like a rookie while shifting..

Any Nissan clutch from the '90s thru this year isn't stiff unless you have some type of physical disability....Gary

get an autotragic, then you can "shift" gears without a clutch :hide:

Personally. I have an 05 G35. The stiffness is about a 1 for me. I had a fully built evo with an ACT 6 puck race clutch, extreme HD pressure plate, and a lightened flywheel. The pedal pressure to push in that clutch was nothing short of tiring.

If you're mustang is anything close to my evo, the G35 clutch will feel like stepping on a marshmallow.

Agreed with all the rest of the posts. I mean I've driven a lot of cars with way lighter clutches but at the same time its not bad. I had a Porsche Boxster before this and that was a lot heavier.
