steering problems

well im not sure how im going to explain this, but here it goes...

ok well everytime i crank the tires all the way right or left i hear a almost grinding medal sound, sounding like its coming from the rear of the car. its noticeable enough that people all around shoot me a look of absolute horror. then when im driving down the road it sounds like my tires are rubbing in the rear, but their not. it stops when i let off the accelerator but when the car is slowing it self down you still here it. also if i crank the wheels to the right and accelerate to reverse my front right tire rubs. i never experienced these problems until just recently and im pretty sure it started happing after hitting a few unforeseen potholes. i have not pulled the tires yet to actually check for polished spots in the wheel wells or tire wear. i have 19's all around, 245's on the front and 275's on the rear, brembos all around and stock everything. car is at 78000 miles and is a 04 coupe 6mt. any ideas on what could be going on..?

Sounds like you have a differential leak. If I were you I would stop driving immediately and take care of the problem unless you feel like buying a new one. If you've been driving on it, you might have already caused permanent damage.

This is going to sound ridiculous but I found the problem. I have low pros as well all know and after driving the other day I was getting a death punch wobble. Well I got home and busted out the jack. I was going to jack the front end up but I noticed my rear passenger tire was kinda inboard. So i jacked up the rear put it on stands and started examining joints and what not. Well i look towards the driver side and noticed that the inside wall of my driver tire was complete blown out. Well sh**. So that was a noob mistake on me but anyway i moved onto the passenger side and grabbed my rim at the 12 and 6 position and was able to move it in and out. Apon further research I found I have a blown wheel bearing. I'm wait for pay day for new rear tires, new hub and bearing.

Glad you found it. Although it's a pain to replace those parts, it's a hell of a lot better than blindly replacing parts and not fixing the problem. Good luck!

thanks. lets just hope that it is just a wheel bearing and not a axle bearing or worse something in the rear diff..
