Post the problems your G has had or has and how you overcame it!

I beleive my G35 has had every common or known problem. I'm not sure if anybody else feels this way. I've only had it for a year and a half. This is in no order.

1) Car would overheat. Turned out the radiator fans kept blowing they're fuse. New radiator fans.

2) Replaced both window motors.

3) Door locks don't work. If i lock it, it wont open or lock. I think its actuators... ive had this problem since I got the car. My car is NEVER locked.

4) Trunk opener doesn't work, still currently have.

5) One day I was driving and couldnt go above 20 MPH VDC and slip on.... needed new throttle body.

6) Radio controls out. Air conditioning always on.... fixed by replacing the entire radio.

7) My fan fuse for the a/c and heat keeps blowing whenver I put a new one in.... currently have this problem as of 2 days ago.

8) Ive been in 3 accidents since owning the car. None at all my fault...

Other than that it's been great mechanically wise but geeeeez.....

For your fuse blowing check all the wiring in the front of the car ther is most likely a short in one of the wires. I say this because you say you been in 3 accidents. If any where front collision accidents there may be a striped wire shorting out.

Not in order or anything:

Trunk stopped popping. One wire broke and a couple others were nearly there. Repaired all of them myself - free.
Both Compression Rods replaced - $500.
Brother blew my engine (redlined 3rd back to 2nd) - $7500 for a turn key install of a fully blue printed and balanced motor with a port and polish and race bearings.
Window motors - Warranty
Radio Head Unit - TWICE - both under Warranty (thank god)
Rattle in sunroof - Loose nut/bolt - fixed by dealer for $135
Various pistons in Brembo calipers seized - Rebuilt myself - $150 for parts (spent about $150 on tools, but I don't count that since I will use those in the future to work on the car)
Random running lights out - Fixed myself for ~$20 (for the bulbs)
Rear bumper fixed - twice - from people hitting me. Once in a parking lot. Once I was rear ended at a red light. Luckily both were very light and damaged only the bumper (not even the crash beam beneath).

Car was overheating due to cooling system not being properly bled, TPS is acting up intermittently, wheel speed sensor out, bad idler pulley on the accessory belt, needed an alignment, gas tank/filler tube issue. all of these issues showed up within a month of buying the car so I told the dealership to fix it all for free or take the car back. problem solved.

Also forgot - I had the VDC Off, Slip, and ABS lights keep coming on during normal driving. Took it into the dealer and it was the battery. New one put in - $165.

Yeah. It was the battery getting weak or something. The car was about 5 years old at that point, which seems to be around the average time a factory battery lasts.

my problem was the car was so low that my exhaust was scraping on speedbumps.

my solution was to go even lower, and now the exhaust scrapes on flat ground.

Ah didn't see this thread. This where I should of vented. I have had my G alittle over a year too. I fell in love at 1st sight. It was a dream when I got, drove smooth and all. But after a good month or 2 that's when all hell broke loose.

1) CD player quit working- still error, I just hook up cassette player and phone probably wont fix unless I get new head unit
2) Brakes - not smooth jerking feeling really unsafe When money is right
3) Door Lock Passenger side - Accuator Probably when gets real urgent will fix
4) Window pass, side- quit working for abit Suddenly works fine
5) Exhaust Rattles - weld broke loose Hoping to get intake and exhaust when money is right
6) Burn Smell from under driver side- mostly after a good day of driving the car hard
7) Then all your rattles, Oil level, Anitfreeze level going up when warm (something it didn't do before when got), Car shook bad at a complete stop 2x. Just a bunch weird stuff really wrong stuff with the car too much to think of right off the head

I think what baffles me is after purchasing this car I thought I would be other than the oil change other little stuff would be trouble (maintenance free). Already replaced spark plugs 350 easy. Wish I knew how to do car things, but I don't. My old car was a lex trouble free still till this day. If this car ever epicly fails I am getting rid of the hassle and going back to Lexus.
