CAI & Flooding Concerns
CAI & Flooding Concerns
Ok I really want to get a Cold Air Intake when the G gets here but my problem is that I live on the water and it dpes flood around here once in a while. Does anybody know how deep the water would have to be for it to get sucked into the engine? I've already blown one engine cause of the damn floods and Ill be dammed if it's gonna happen to the G!! LOL last time it was in an explorer too but that was only cause a school bus sent a wave crashing over my hood, long story. Anyway just wondering what type of clearance I would have so I dont have to stay either home or away from home when It's high tide. Thanx
Re: CAI & Flooding Concerns
As long as it's not fully immersed in water you should be fine. Best thing to do is get the by-pass valve to make sure that this does not happen. You can have the cone fully immersed in water and the bypass valve will make sure that no water will flow through.

Re: CAI & Flooding Concerns
i would just install a k&n and leave it at that. i think (from dyno graphs) the cai will give you like +4 more hp, not really worth it for the price; esp. since like injen's it causing M6s to stall all over the splace, lol.

Not up to speed on the whole stalling issue but I know I would like the sound of the Ingen. I shouldnt drive the coupe in the rain anyway and always have use of a 4 runner if absoultly necessary. Decisions decisions!
