when I was researching the g35c prior to my buy, I found a spec that put the
standard 05 brakes at 60 - 0 in 118 feet. That is outstanding, if the prior is correct and the bembros did 115 feet that is not much to worry about.

I went to a dealer and had a chance to look at the difference in the brakes side by side. The brembos are alot more substantial. The calipers are alot bigger than the 05s. These numbers are from nissannews.com

05
Front: 12.6-inch x 1.1-inch power-assisted vented disc
Rear: 12.1-inch x 0.63-inch power-assisted vented disc

04 Brembo
Brembo® brakes
Front: 12.76-inch x 1.18-inch power-assisted - 4 pistons
Rear: 13.07-inch x 0.87-inch power-assisted - 2 pistons

I am very annoyed that the 05 do not have the brembos, but at the same time I understand that I do not need them unless I will track the car.

www.stoptech.com has some great articles on brakes if any is interested

For everyday drivers... the Brembos would be completely useless ... except to look nice and higher chances of getting rear ended by 321098132890132890 year old cars.

Don't forget to factor in replacement prices on the Brembo brake components.

They cost a LOT more to replace than a standard brake setup....

Yeap...Brembos might be nice, but the repair/replace cost is really high. I'm ok with the stock breaks for everyday driving. But if I were to track my car, of course I would want to upgrade my breaks. Other then that, it doesn't bother me at all that our 05s don't have Brembos anymore.

What I never got was if the brembos were costly why did they keep them on the 350Z? You'd think since Infiniti is suppose to be like the higher end brand cars of nissan the G35 would have it and the Z would not.

I may be wrong here, but I think the Brembos only come on the Track model Z?... and in that case, I suppose it makes sense to put high-performance brakes on car that is most likely going to see some actual track time.

I need to correct my previous post. Motortrend was the magazine that meant to quote about the 6mt sedans specs. And 0 to 60 was 5.7x and 60 to 0 was 110 feet. Has the coupe with Brembos ever done that? Or beat it?

Go to www.stoptech.com they have an article on bedding in your brakes. But I believe you should bed in all brakes.

You may want to try this first: Extend some plastic flexible tubing from the nose to your brakes for increased rotor ventilation.

my salesman said that the 05 brakes are almost as good as the Brembos and infiniti did a good job in developing high quality brakes. of course they're not as good as the Bremobs, but they are a lot better than the 03/04 AT brakes. plus they produce a lot less brake dust than the Brembos. when i test drove the 05, the brakes felt very strong and at a good sensitivity level. great stoppping power in my opinion.

when I bought my G i did heavy research and i found out that the ACTUAL stopping time was faster with the regular brakes not the brembos. however, over the long run on a track, the brembos will kill the stock
