Service Engine Soon light coming on and off

Hello I purchased a 2003 6MT coupe about two month ago and never had any problems with it up until about 2 weeks ago. My SES light keeps coming on for a day or two and then turns back off, this has happened a couple of times already. I took it to pepboys to have the error codes read yesterday and it came up with zero codes. yet the light was still on. And being the wonderful mechanic that the guy there was just told me "ehh don't worry about it"... I was just wondering if anyone might know why this is happening? I think it is because my battery died on me about two nights before this all started, I searched on google and this forum along with others but can't seem to find a definite reason. My car is a 2003 DG coupe 6MT with about 99,700 miles on her. Trying to get my bank account ready for her 100,000 mile tune up haha. Thanks

Taking your G to PepBoys is a major mistake! Find a qualified Nissan mechanic you can trust that has his own shop or Nissan is 30% cheaper than Infiniti dealerships. There's a reason the SES warning is on your dash, find out why. Could be how battery was installed, was that from PepBoys too or Sears? Check your battery cables, did they forget to tighten them?

Thanks Gary. The light turned off again as I was driving home from LA today but I checked my battery cables and their all tight. The battery was installed already when I bought the car so I'm hoping it was at ta dealership. When it died on me, left the headlights on one night, I just jump started it and never replaced the battery. And I would never let pepboys ever actually touch my baby for any type of real service haha, just wanted the error codes read real quick. I'm going down to a Nissan dealership to get my oil changed in a couple of weeks so I will ask them about it too. Thanks again for your help
