Brembo Brakes squeek
Brembo Brakes squeek
My G35 Coupe 6MT with Brembo brakes have been squeeking since the first day I got it. It only squeekes at the end of braking. According to the service manager at Cerritos Infiniti, every G35 brakes squeek (especially the Brembos) because of the hard brake pads installed by Infiniti to get good braking performance. Can others with Brembo brakes confirmed this?
Re: Brembo Brakes squeek
Baloney. My 6mt Coupe with Brems has never squeaked and I'm rollin up to 2000 miles. My wife's g35 Sedan is another matter. Her brakes cry like a baby.....when it's time for pads I'm changing her out to ceramics or greens....but not stock replacements from Nissan.

Re: Brembo Brakes squeek
Did a search on 'bedding brembo brakes'. Plenty of info on the Brembo brakes: http://www.drivewerks.com/catalog/pe...rembo_FAQ1.htm
An excerpt:
Should new discs and pads be bedded in and if so, how?
The answer is yes, for optimum performance, any time different friction materials or discs are introduced, a bedding procedure should be carried out.
While the vehicle is stationary, pump brakes to ensure a firm pedal.
Drive the vehicle cautiously to test fit and function.
The brakes should be smooth, with no vibrations, judder, etc.
Drive the vehicle to a remote area and perform at least 30 brake applications of 3-second duration. Use light/medium deceleration with varying starting speeds. Leave at least ½ mile between each brake application.
The purpose of this procedure is to gradually increase the temperature in the components without inducing thermal shock, and to mate the brake pad and disc friction surfaces.
After the repeated stops, drive the vehicle for several miles with little or no braking in order to adequately cool the components.
After the above process is completed, the system is ready for normal use.
When the system achieves elevated brake temperatures for the first time, a slight increase in pedal travel and pedal effort may occur. After this first "fade" and proper cooling, the system will maintain its optimum performance at all temperatures.

Re: Brembo Brakes squeek
Thanks for the info. I will try to follow the Brembo recommendations to see if it gets rid of the noise.
But by in large, it sounds like almost everyone experienced some braking noise with the car. My car has 1200 miles, and I'm still experiencing the noise right before a complete stop.
Hopefully, it will go away.
I will post an update if or when the noise goes away.

Re: Brembo Brakes squeek
New 6MT Coupe owned for 1 week with less than 500 miles on it. My brakes do squeal but only occasionally, usually during very low speed manuevers, like parking in the garage, and even then only sometimes. Mostly they are silent.

Re: Brembo Brakes squeek
My breaks were squealing a couple days after I got the coupe. Again, I went in there with the line "Why did I get a defective car, I DO NOT THINK I GAVE YOU DEFECTED MONEY!"
I got my rear pads changed, now it's a little better.
