one thing I never understood about the tsb is how a part inside the seat can cause a tear out side of the seat lol. I kinda thought it was baloney and its just a weak spot caused by cheap thin leather

This isn't "Rocket Science," every time we sit down the sharp plastic gouges the leather eventually causing a rip or tear. With just over 50K miles on SLICK I'll have my seat recovered with OE leather to match since my bolsters are also showing wear. CarZone in Van Nuys (818-373-1330) will order the cover and they have a upholstery shop to do the install...Gary

The upholstery shop that did my seat replaced the cheap vinyl with much thicker material and thin carpet padding over the sharp plastic. Its been a year since the repair and big butts have sat there. lol. No signs of wear.

Gary is right. It also has to do with how low the car is and how we get in our cars. If you notice when you get in, you kinda fall in and land right where that tear is. After repeated blows, its gonna give. My friends dads vette had the same tear. Try hanging on to the roof and lowering yer a$$ directly over the middle of the seat. Helps a lot.

Exactly. I hold onto the steering wheel and glide over the bolster. But really in the end, the seat design doesn't help much either.

If you fart while going over the bolster it'll help you hover over to the center.

I save my farts for when my wife gets in. Put the windows up, lock the window switches, a/c off, and drive.

My coupe gained that name clear back in '05 when I first showed her at a "Toys for Tots" event. She only had a Borla exhaust/Stillen CAI, Volk GTCs and a OE front lip but won Nissan mags best of show. One reason, I'd spent hours with a buffer finishing up with several coats of Zymol Concourse wax. The editor Dave ran the back of his hand over her paint and said, "That's Slick!" Effin A I'm serious, that's my story and I'm stickin to it!
