nope dont think thats either i drove with the hood popped and still did it. im about to fukcing kick the damn thing. i will remove it and reinstall making asure it touches nothing. it just might be the one engine mount bracket screw hitting the fork end of the CAI tube bracket. but who knows. thanks RX

OH man! so i take the damn thing off, check the tube for nicks in it etc etc to see if it was hitting anything, which i know is NOT, put it back on carefully etc etc. start the car and the "service engine soon light" comes on. man this is a nightmare. whats going on here. i added some oil to the engine thinking that could be it since its due for its 15,000 in 2,000 miles and that didnt do shiit! i just dont know what to do. i guess i need to reinstall the OEM and go from there. anyone got any ideas? please. has anyone had the "service engine soon" light come on after an Cain install? help. thanks RX

Yeah... I know how that goes. After I put my CAI on, I noticed my car stalls at 80mph+ if there is no load on the engine... if I go back stock problem solved. But I don't wanna do that. Hey, when you bought the intake, did it come short ram style only, or did it have the extra pipe so you could go cold air if you wanted?

actually, it came with the extra tube after all it is a CAI but i modified it to fit the filter short so i wouldnt have to cut foam and pry back fenders, etc. this is the only thing i can think of. but how the hell an that cause a knocking noise from the engine? all it is is an extra foot of pipe angled down into the front bumper. something not right here. and WTF did you say about your car stalling at 80mph screw this INJEN CAI. lol, well it isn't only Injen CAIs that make the Z/G stall out. Not all, but a few have had the same problem. Take the car to 80 and put it in neutral and the car stalls. The first time I found this out, I was driving 120mph... Easy fix though, I got an Injen heatshield to limit the amount of direct air hitting the filter at speed and all is well... I was gonna say try to install that extra pipe and see if the same thing happens. But it is a hassle to install. Gotta take the bumper off and all unless you have small flexible hands.

well i would install the extra pipe if someone could tell me how to do it without doing anything to the bumper. is there a way? i did pull back the inside fender crap when i installed my 6000k bulbs but i try to minimize messing with stock stuff if all possible. the problem is getting the filter into that hole down there. is there a way to get the filter in by going from the bottom up? thanks RX
