I was replacing my brake pads, and I couldn't get my right rear Brembo caliper off because two of those bolts that connect both ends of the caliper were stripped. After much hassle talking to the "techs" at my local infiniti dealer, and being cursed out by there pissed off employe telling me I broke my caliper because I took it apart. Lol I'm like "no.... I've done this three times I just need the bolt that connects to the other calipers"

Anyways, I need the bigger bolt ( outside) and the smaller bolt ( inside) that connects the two calipers. Where can I get these?

 

If you split your caliper and did break those bolts, you're kind of SOL. Brembo does not sell them, nor does Infiniti.

You're supposed to remove the caliper from the car when you do brake pads...not split the caliper in half.

 

^agreed. There's a DIY that shows how to do it without taking the calipers off...

 

Wierd I followed exactly the DYI.... I understand what you both are saying tho but thats not what happened thank goodness...

 

Wait what do you mean break the caliper apart, do you mean you opened it into 2 pieces, or do you mean you pushed the piston back into the caliper housing?

 

Took the four bolts off to take of the other half. Followed exactly the DIY... I had to this because I was putting new rotors on it.

 

I think you took out the wrong bolts...
I just did a brembo swap which required new rotors/lines/pads/etc. I even rebuilt all of my caliper seals. At no point did I ever take the calipers apart. The FSM even goes through how to rebuild the Brembo calipers, and there is nothing in the procedure; the factory service diagrams don't even show those bolts as a part that can be disassembled.

The picture below is a stock pic I got from google. To remove the caliper to install new rotor/pads/etc, you would remove the bolts marked in BLUE. There are two of these attaching each caliper to each of your axles. From what I gathered from your explaination, you took out the RED bolts which is not the correct ones to remove. If you stripped or damaged these bolts, you are SOL beause Brembo no longer makes these bolts, you cannot order them separately from Nissan, and you only hope is to buy a used Brembo caliper off eBay or from another member here.

If the bolts in red are not the ones you took out, post a pic of what you did.

 

This is exactly the issue. There shouldn't ever be a "half a caliper." The 4 hex bolts should never be touched. The calipers should always stay whole.

 

o_O your only supposed to push off 2 pins and remove the clip and compress the piston back to install the new caliper.nothing should have been in half.

 

ARP could probably custom make those bolts for you. Give them a call and find out. You may need to send them the two good bolts for measurements.

Btw, you should only split the caliper in half like that if you plan on painting or powder coating it and want it to look professional. Never to remove the pads or the rotor.

Also the bolts can probably be sourced from mcmaster.com or other bolt websites. But your bolt is probably ok, its most like the threads on the caliper that are screwed up.
