Ok this may have been discussed before but I searched and didn't find anything, so here it is. My 04 Coupe has a problem with the drivers window if I hit the auto up it goes up and then it drops back down about 3-4 inches. I saw somewhere that someone posted that there was a limit switch that needed to be reset but I didn't see it when I popped the switch housing off so I am wondering it it is the regulator that is bad? Please any help is appreciated

Also my drivers door will not open or close with the fob should I just get an aftermarket lock or what? What's the best fix for this?

I have to get the car ready for sale because I have a wedding to pay for

Unfortunately the reset button is at the window regulator motor. You must remove the door panel to access the button.

This is straight out of the service manual, I had the same problem it worked perfect for me..

SETTING OF LIMIT SWITCH

If any of the following work has been done, set the limit switch (integrated in the motor).
  • Removal and installation of the regulator.
  • Removal and installation of the motor from the regulator.
  • Operate the regulators as a unit.
  • Removal and installation of the glass.

RESETTING

After installing each component to the vehicle, follow the steps below.
1. With the door open, lift up and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully closed.
2. Get inside the vehicle and close the door.

  • You need to close the door so the door switch is fully depressed.
3. Press and hold the reset switch. While holding the reset switch, press down and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully opened.
4. Release the reset switch. Then, lift up and hold the power window switch until the door glass is fully closed.
5. Open the door to release the door switch. The door glass should partially move down.

CAUTION:

  • Do not use the window auto function.
  • Do not release the switch before the window is fully stopped.
