07 g35 coupe DRL questions
So I have a 07 g35 coupe. I have a remote start on it. My daytime running lights only come on with the side marker lights when I activate the remote start. Otherwise I never see my DRL's come on. This being said, how do I get my daytime running lights to stay on during the day while in the " auto" function while driving? Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
I dont know if this is what you looking for but i tell you what i did to mine and they are always on "auto" mode when i turn on my car no matter if its day or night( i also have a remote start alarm) . Its simple there is a round sensor in front of the passenger seat dash close to the windshield take it out and wrap the top with something dark so light doesn't come thru (i use carbon fiber viny to do mine) so the sensors thinks its always dark outside and it will turn your headlight on every time your start your car no matter if its day or night and they will turn off automatically after you turn of your car. Works for me and you can reverse the process if you dont like it since its so simple so try it. Hope that helps.
I have another question... Why is it when I switched all my daytime running lights to white LEDs and fog lights into Xeon bulbs my side markers to white LEDs that my side marker lights won't come on accept for when the car is in remote start mode? Also my back tail lights stopped working accept for when I brake they do work in that case also my rear license plate lights are not working ether. What the heck is going on!?!?!?!?!
Took it to Nissan without looking at it they said it was not a fuse. They said it was the wiring probably..(How would they know without looking) anyways I'm taking it to Infiniti in St. Louis tomorrow hopefully they can fix whatever the heck is going on
Well I guess Nissan told u that because if it was a fuse they wouldn't work at all not even on remote start mode I think it's something else wrong with the wires and did they work before u got the alarm with remote start installed ? Or u bought the car with it already and had that problem cuz maybe the alarm guys tap some wire they didn't need it to n it's causing u those problems.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (which there is a good chance that I am), but here is my opinion anyways. I just got my G so I'm still learning things about the car, but my previous car also had auto headlamps with a sensor similar to that on the G35.
The way I see it is that if you tape/obscure the sensors to trick it into thinking that it's always dark, the automatic headlamp system will turn on the headlights for you all the time (full beam). That's the way they normally work. If the sensor sees that it's dark enough, it will automatically switch them on for you. If it's always dark (by taping over the sensors), your main low beam driving lights will always be on. Not sure if this is the effect you want to achieve by having DRLs, but that's what I understood from what Alex305 described in his post.

Also I think there are two sensors on the dash for the auto headlights. One is toward the drivers side and the other is on the passenger side. You'd probably have to cover both for them to always be on.
