I never downshift to first when coming to a complete stop, my car does it automatically.

You shouldn't ever downshift in manual mode unless it's for going into a corner you want to accelerate out of or quickly accelerate on the freeway etc. Downshifting otherwise isn't necessary

So op says he drove standards yet wants to downshift to first. Somethings not right. Btw I don't even think autos downshift to first

ya we like to call it fast accel from a stop light or something. Something isnt right with the car and unless you having something helpful to mention then don't waste your time and go troll other people.

I drove a new G37S as a loaner car a few weeks ago, i down shifted from 40 into 1st gear in triptronic, its possible, just probably depends on the year/model

we cannot select which gear our cars can go in unless were moving at the right speed. I guess its sort of a safety. You might think we have the gear selection choice like Mercedes do but we do not sadly.

imo sport mode should only be used to upshift and enjoy the acceleration. if u wanted the manual experience shoulda bought a manual. theres tons of them out there. otherwise stop pretending
