My car will not shift down while in sport mode.
Ok so my deal is exactly what the title says. While I have my G35 in sport mode it shifts up just fine. The problem is it will not hardly ever shift down i have to come to a complete stop to get it back to first gear. I called the dealership they said they didn't know what it could be. Car is not under warranty any longer so having it repaired that way is not possible. Anyone else ever had this issue and if so what was the solution.

You should be able to downshift or upshift to any gear, any time as long as the RPM's fall within redline (<7000) or will not dip low enough to stall the car (>800).
I've downshifted to 1st many times at 15-20 mph and received the spine shocking bumps and lurches as the car tries to sort out why I'm such a jackass.
You are more then likely having an electrical issue... either in the console module or the TCM. Does it downshift as it should in drive? Like downshifts to 2nd or 3rd when passing cars and downshifting through the gears when very slowly coming to a stop? If it does, then there has to be a problem with electrical signal not getting to the right spot...

It does downshift sometimes while in sport mode. But most of the time no. I am shifting within the listed parameters. It also shifts just fine while in normal drive mode. But if I put it to Sport Mode it hardly ever shifts down.I have to pull it back and back and back to get it from 4th to 5th at speeds like 20 MPH.

It is when you put it from auto to manual. The dealership here called it sport mode so I assume that's what it is.
