Floor jack to pick up back of G35 coupe - where?

I have been hearing a grinding noise from the back of my car in the last day or two and am hoping it is just the rear brakes since I know they have been low. Anyway, I ordered in a 2 floor floor jack, rotors, a c clamp and pads and all that good stuff and am going to attempt to change out the rotors and pads tomorrow... one question, I looked under the car before and am not sure where to put the jack to raise the backend. I can do one tire at a time, unless I can raise the whole back at once, I am just not sure where to put the jack. I found a spot on picture A that I circled or Picture B (B looks like the drive train if I am not mistaken).

Can anywhere tell me wheres a good spot to put the floor jack?
Picture A? Picture B?

Thanks guys...

Chris

Both points can be used to jack the car up with. I'd be weary about torquing the caliper bolts with the car jacked up on the differential though, doesn't seem like it would be very stable.

cool.. I guess if it does not seem stable once its up, I can put the regular jack under the corner to help make it a bit more secure, I hope. I was watching a couple of youtube videos today and it looked like they were just using floor jacks to change out the brakes, not to say its safe now that you mention it, hopefully it is.

jack the rear up using the differential (picture b), put the car on jack stands (place them at the notches on the pinch welds along the sides of the car), then proceed with the work. do not rely solely on the floor jack while performing work.

You shouldn't work on your car without jackstands! There's obvious areas to place them once it's in the air like Chris mentioned. With the jack and jackstands in place (front wheels blocked) then you can proceed. Don't forget to loosen the wheel lugs before you raise the car. Same way when you finished, tighten the wheel lugs with the your car on the ground.

Jack it up from the rear diff. then stick your jack stands on the pinch rails. if your unsure you can always read your owners manual in the maint. section. hopefully you have small jack stands. if you have large stand, that car is going to be way up in the air. good luck.
