It's all love here too bro, sometimes it's fun going back and forth about the capabilities of cars we own. PS that evo is definitely growing on me and it's mean as hell too! Originally Posted by evolved_4g63

I had a Stage 4 WRX before i got my G35. Stg 4 consists of upgraded turbo, bigger injectors, etc... The power i was putting down was similar to an STi and would of been more but i never had time to get it properly tuned. Judging each car from a roll, i would have to say its pretty even. The STi might be able to inch away up to about 90mph, after that both cars will seem to be at a stand still.Originally Posted by iLLG35
No it wont, go drive an Sti and it pulls so hard up until 140, believe me!

Yep...still breakin it in....05G35C AT.
Personally, I could care less about this cuz I'm probably not going to push past 100mph nor am I going to go 0-60 in 6, 7, 8, 9...... However, it is interesting that some say the STI is a killer from start 0 ...I just want to know what makes the 50mph starting point so different.

All wheel drive turbo, with short gearing. The STi is reported to have more HP and Tq than the G as well, though AWD causes more loss of power to the wheels so RWHP on the G should be close to AWHP on the STi.Originally Posted by jaay11

being able to launch at nearly any rpm and get grip means that some testers have gotten the car to hit 60 in 4.8 -> 5.3 seconds whereas i think a 6MT G sits right around 5.8 seconds. Launching is even more critical in the G to get max power without wheelspin whereas for the most part an STi can rev up and drop the clutch and be moving ASAP.
starting at 50 negates the takeoff (obviously) and puts the STi at a slight disadvantage since it does have shorter gearing than the G35
