hahaha. my car's been sitting at 3500miles or so for the last
2-3months. I get to take her out once in a while after it rains and
roads dry up, but I don't foresee that happening until end of Feb
or March. Just the way it is over here.

btw, make sure you over inflate your tires to 40psi at 32F or
39psi at 20F and turn your tires every other week to prevent
flat spots (or roll your car forward/aft). Then take the air out
to 35psi or whatever your preference next time you drive out.

yah, many people think flat spotting was the thing back in the
good ol' days... not the case on cars especially that run a lot of
neg camber.

Typical complaint from Skyline owners in Japan are the thumping noises
from the tires...guess what? they only get to drive their cars only once
or twice every weekend at best and most of them being the regular joe
(or should I say regular Tanaka?) don't check their tire pressures at all.

A car is a car to me. I bought it to enjoy it and drive it everyday. I do take care of it but then I don't mind putting a lot of miles on it and use it everyday. What good is buying such a great car if you're not gonna use it? Even if I had a Ferrari, I would drive it as much as possible.

For those of you who drive it on a daily basis, do you care where you park? I try to drive my G every where I go but if I know in advance of a tight parking situation, I tend to not drive the G and take my gf's 00' TL instead . At school, there are probably 4 other G's and they all park close to the school where there's a lot of tight spaces and cars pulling in and out. It makes me feel a little obsessive compulsive but I tend to park farther away and in wider spaces for peace of mind.

I bought the car back in Feb 04 and it only has 4500 miles on it without any dings or dents. Does anyone know if our doors/fenders/bumpers ding easily? I know as soon as I get a couple of dents/dings, I won't be worried as much anymore but in the meantime, I'd like to keep it as clean as possible.

I have 2 cars, the G35 coupe and a 96 Accord. I drive the G about 3-4 days/week because the Honda is cheaper to operate (better gas mileage, uses regular octane, tires last 50k miles, etc). Of course I'd prefer to drive the G every day but I'd be spending more money.

I kept my piece of crap accent after I bought my 2005 6mt coupe, and swore up and down I would only take the coupe out on weekends, and maybe fridays to work... Well my accent has been sitting in the same spot it was when I bought the G... The bottom line is the G is just to much fun to drive. Granted my trip to work is only 40 miles round trip, but now I think I'll only use the red headed step child for trips over 200 miles...

Yeah. I specifically bought my G because I have a relatively long commute to work and I wanted to be comfortable while driving. Also, it is so much fun to drive, I often take it out just for the heck of it. I used to take my wife's Camry on weekend errands and stuff, but now, I take the G 'cuz it's more fun to drive. I understand, though, people who don't want to take their cars out where it snows and stuff. That's one of the reasons I got the heck out of the northeast and moved to SoCal!!
To be quite honest, though, if I had a lot of cash, I'd probably still use my G as my everyday car. But, I'd have my Lamborghini sittin' in the garage for the weekends!!

I live in a snow-belt state, so I always keep a 4WD SUV for commuting in the Winter, and also for big cargo purposes that my G can't handle. It just turns out that it is also cheaper to insure my 4x4 as the daily commuter than my G35.

So I end up primarily commuting in the SUV most months, and the G has mainly become my weekend car. I do sometimes commute in the G more in Summer months, but because of how my insurance is set up, it's not used daily.

If I lived in a warm weather state, I would personally have no problem using it as a daily driver. Practicality takes me down a different path living here, though.

Yeah, I sure don't baby mine.... I take good care of it (as I do my big screen, my computers, my house, or anything else I paid a lot for) I keep it clean, etc.

But it is my only car, I didn't keep my beater. I drive the G everywhere
I have had mine for 12 weeks and it has 6300 miles on it, so that is in the 25k a year range.

I think most people use the G35 as a daily driver unless they spend a lot of money modding the car.

i could have kept my salvaged 2001 altima as a beater. but well.... i dont commute more than 15 miles each day.

anyhow, its not worth it. the g35 isnt a ferrari. you should drive it, you bought it to drive it , and its not an exotic.
