Hp question...

Hey Guys,
I hope I am in the right area. I have an 03 G35 Coupe and, it has 84K on it. Is it to late to add a Turbo Kit. Also which is the best to get? I know i will need the Cobb port too, but I do not want change rings, rods, and basically open the motor up. Just looking for bolt on. I know I am not going to go with something cheep like an Ebay knock off. most likely a Greddy kit. What is the max power I can put through Stock Motor before something gives. I don't want to hurt her. Thanks Guys!

Cheapest is a Vortech SC kit which will get you an acceptable amount of hp. Generally accepted hp limit is 400hp and under on stock rods, which are the weak point of the engine. However, it really depends on the engine condition, and people have blown their engines with less. Not sure what the generally accepted tq limit is on stock internals.

So is that a Super Charger kit, or a Turbo kit? Also, thank you for your feed back. I am new to this car, and I feel that the car is not slow stock, but hey we all can use more power right?

That's a supercharger kit, they are an "easier" cheaper bolt on forced induction system. Turbos are a bit more work and more parts involved...

Vortech supercharger is probably your best bet for your goals. I hope you are willing and expecting to pay upwards towards $10k to get everything setup right though...

Thank you, I will check there. I did a general search for Turbo kits on main page, and it came up with way to much stuff that had nothing to do with Turbo kits. Going to check it out now. Thanks, for feed back guys.if anyone else has something that can help that would be great. Is there a separate area for exhaust too?

So, this one here is about 5K. and it says 260 hp engines. Does that mean it gives 260 hp or that is what i will have total after install?

There's separate sections for just about everything, just browse the forum. There's also no "best" kit for FI since each kit reacts differently and has different capabilities. Read through the stickied threads in the FI sections on both here and My350z.com.

What did you end up deciding? I'm always interested in heating about others plans since I don't have any of my own for my car... Lol

I really want to do the Greddy TT set up, just because I have had a few turbo cars in the past. But 8 grand for a turbo kit is a little out of my price range. This will take a while due to shopping around and reading up on the advantages on different makers. I.E Greddy vs Garret so on so forth. Will defiantly go with Cobb port for sure though. This way when ever I do have to open it up for rebuild I will already be set for more power.
